Description
At the end of the infamous Abano Pass on a grassy plateau overlooking endless snowy mountain peaks, lies Omalo, one of Europe's most remote and isolated villages. The village is only reachable until winter's first snowfall, after which Tusheti, the region tucked deep within the Caucasus mountains, gets completely cut off from the rest of the country. Only a handful of residents brave the harsh winter conditions and become the guardians of the mountains, until the spring sun begins to melt the thick layers of snow.
